Description
This is a development position to work with a new start-up company in the energy efficiency space to take new technology to commercialization. You will report to the CTO and be directly responsible for taking over the firmware design, development, and maintenance of embedded system code for the company's flagship product.
Must enjoy working in an environment where your personal initiative, drive, and determination are required to get the job done. We are looking for someone with solid industry experience in firmware design, integration, and validation for DSP processor-based systems. Previous experience in closed-loop control systems highly desired.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, test and maintain firmware projects.
- Write product requirements and design specifications.
- Research and contribute to the company's proprietary intellectual property.
- Support hardware team to bring-up and validate boards.
- Support customers to integrate HID Labs technology into their system.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated experience in full life-cycle of firmware development.
- Strong C/C+ programming skills and assembly code for real-time systems.
- Best practices in software development process and coding style.
- TI DSP processor and development system familiarity.
- Embedded system design, development.
- Experience writing device drivers is a plus.
- Use of source control and bug tracking systems.
- Ability to read hardware schematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Professional Experience
- 5 years of experience in embedded system design and development.
- Ability to make code modifications and validation process.
- Experience with mixed analog & digital signal designs.
- Experienced with oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and network analyzers.
- Some protocol knowledge highly desired.
- Familiar with closed-loop control applications.
Education
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
- M.S.E.E. or equivalent graduate degree preferred.
