Description

HID Labs is a new start-up company in the energy efficiency space. We are seeking an outstanding engineering level technician to join our high power development team to help take products to commercialization.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter, takes initiative, and produces high quality work in all aspects of the job. This individual must be experienced in development organizations and familiar with the work required to develop, validate, and release products to the commercial market. This job is located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. We are seeking an individual who is able to re-locate for the duration of the contract.

Responsibilities

  • Assist engineering staff members in the design, procurement, build and check-out of engineering units during development.
  • Perform unit testing and evaluation of software, and review of test procedures.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and equipment to the component level through activities ranging.
  • Perform re-work as required to support development engineering.
  • You will set up and operate specialized and test equipment, computers and related equipment to perform manual and automated performance and environmental tests.
  • In addition, you will provide test reports when necessary and perform test data management activities including data collection, evaluation, and documentation.

Professional Experience

  • 5 years of electronics test experience, preferably with high-voltage power supplies for space applications.
  • Work from schematics, drawings, engineering specifications, data sheets, wiring diagrams, and verbal and written instructions.
  • Must be able to write re-work instructions for internal and manufacturing partner use.
  • Troubleshooting engineering analog and digital mixed signal designs for assemblies and subassemblies.
  • Outstanding re-work skills for surface mount and fine pitch components.
  • Thorough knowledge of the use of digital oscilloscopes, digital meters, spectrum analyzers, current amplifiers and probes, differential probes, thermal chambers, and other common test equipment is required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills are necessary to provide reports regarding troubleshoot findings on failed units and general unit status.
  • Experience with processor-base architectures, preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word, Excel required, CAD layout experience desired.

Education

  • An associate's degree in electronics or a related field preferred.
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering desired.

Compensation

  • Based on experience and capability.
  • Company will cover housing costs, excluding utilities, for the duration of the assignment.
