Description

This is hardware development position to work with a new start-up company in the energy efficiency space to take new technology to commercialization. You will be directly responsible for taking over the hardware design, development, and maintenance of our high-voltage analog and digital hardware for the company's flagship product.

Must enjoy working in an environment where your personal initiative, drive, and determination are required to get the job done. We are looking for someone with solid industry experience in mixed signal design, debug, integration, and validation testing for DSP processor-based systems. Previous experience in high-voltage, switching power supply design is highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Design responsibility for all hardware specification, engineering documentation, and release to production.
  • Detailed and thorough design analysis and modeling of all critical circuitry.
  • Complete schematic design and component selection.
  • Design of AC input filtering and protection circuitry, FCC conducted/radiated emissions.
  • Evaluation for thermal performance, heatsinking requirements, and electrical stress.
  • Optimize the design for high volume manufacturing.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated proficiency in analog and digital design, specification, debug, and release to manufacturing.
  • Experience in high-voltage switching power supply design, highly desired.
  • Knowledge of critical PCB layout requirements.
  • Use circuit design and analysis with standard modeling software.
  • Ability to use oscilloscopes, power analyzers.

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of solid hardware engineering experience.
  • Design of proven products released to the marketplace.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading projects, setting priorities, and working across organizations to meet objectives and schedule requirements.

Education

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering required.
  • M.S.E.E. or equivalent graduate degree preferred.
