HID Labs' mission is to reduce environmental impact through energy efficiency and the reduction of hazardous waste. We've set a five-year goal of reducing the carbon footprint of the built environment by 3 million tons and diverting more than 13,000 tons of waste from landfills. Our aim is to enable the net-zero energy building of the future.

Lighting represents 22% of annual U.S. energy consumption and up to 30% of a commercial or industrial building's energy use. According to a recent EPRI report, commercial buildings may have the potential to reduce their energy use by close to 90 terawatt-hours (TWh) by 2030 through installation of efficient technologies — the equivalent of reducing CO2 emissions by 57 million tons.
High-efficiency HID lighting solutions can play a significant role in achieving this potential, thereby reducing the nation's carbon footprint.
